Swil-News
A bilingual daily briefing system that keeps the archive local, searchable, and traceable to sources.
Live at news.supwil.com, read-only
Read the daily briefing, then follow a topic into its own digest.
The product
Ten topics, two languages, one archive you can keep without the interface.
Ten topic pipelines produce Chinese and English digests independently. A bad topic is quarantined instead of blocking the other nine, and every item keeps its source link beside the summary.
The archive is plain Markdown rather than a hosted CMS. Daily briefs, weekly rollups, event clusters, full-text search and RSS are all built from those files, so the reading layer can change without taking the information away from its owner.
Generation runs on a schedule, while the public site is deliberately read-only. The local runtime can trigger new digests. The deployment can only present content already committed to the archive.
Current edge
What is unfinished, and what comes next.
Next is a mobile performance pass and a deadman check for days when a scheduled run is silently dropped. The digests are model-generated and mechanically validated, not human-edited, so the interface always points readers back to the source.
